Right before the 31st of December, I had a weirdly strong feeling that I should go to Bangkok. Go figure. I decided to trust it and ended up having one of the best New Year’s. After, I've returned to Da Nang, but only to pack and move to BKK. Usually, I don’t like big cities, but this one did something for me. Maybe it’s the fact that the whole world of whatever possible activities is right at your doorstep, maybe it’s making my childhood dream of living in a city like New York come true, maybe it’s because I could be completely anonymous, lost in 11 million faces, but I adore this place. From the auntie downstairs that cooks up the best cashew chicken and is always so kind to skyscrapers melting in hazy pollution to tiny art galleries sprinkled throughout the city. Here’s a love letter to my valentine, Bangkok.
